5 Small acts of kindness
As Selena Gomez says and I quote:
“The world can be a nasty place
You know it, I know it, yeah
We don’t have to fall from grace
Put down the weapons you fight with
Kill ’em with kindness
Kill ’em, kill ’em, kill ’em with kindness.”
The rule is that simple, even if you want to kill someone, kill ’em with kindness (that’s not what she meant lol). Compassion is not innate; you don’t see a newborn baby being courteous while crying because he/she doesn’t know the concept of kindness while they know to cry really well. Kindness is something we learn: from our environment, from the way we are brought up and the people we hang out with.
Even the smallest act of kindness can lit up someone’s day. Those simple acts which you consider mundane and ordinary can brighten up someone’s day, and you won’t even know.
Amal Academy challenged all of us fellows to perform five random acts of kindness throughout the span of 24 hours, which might not seem difficult at first, but when you start counting, it is not that simple as well.
In this blog post, I will be bragging about how kind I am and how I am the MVTP of my household, without whom everyone is helpless. This blog post is all about me and how amazing/genius of a human being I am. You might be getting pretty narcissistic vibes from what I just wrote, but that is not what I mean literally.
- Watered my plants:
So I started my day like every day, not with a smile or a new hope but without electricity. Still, I pushed myself to start off my day by doing something nice, so I watered my plants. I did not feel anything special because this is something I almost do daily, but for the sake of bragging, I had to capture it.

2. Stroked and fed my cat:
After that, I stroked my kitten, which was roaming around my feet while I was trying to capture this aesthetic shot of the plant with four droplets. I stroked her after a long while because of my hectic schedule. The warmth that you feel while petting a cat cannot be described in words.
This kitten of mine is a rescue kitten, which I rescued a year back. This kitten, along with four of her siblings, was abandoned by her mother so, we raised them up while they were tiny. They were so small we used to feed them milk from cute little feeders. This is an act of kindness that I did a year back. (since the post is about compassion, so I added this part)

3. Kept water for birds:
After feeding my cat, I saw the empty bowl of water. I thought to fill it up real quick, before putting it back on the wall I remembered “Oh show off bhi tou karna hai XD” hence I captured a picture of the bowl because there were no birds at that time. They might have flown away seeing a giant trying to put a mysterious box in front of her and bothering her water drinking process.

4. Act of kindness went wrong in the right way:
After doing all this, I decided to treat myself and be kind to myself, so I made a chilled glass of tang to fight the scorching Karachi heat and sit back and chillax; but when you have siblings, especially younger ones me time is never an option. As I was in the midst of enjoying my chilled glass of tang, my youngest sister tagged in and took the glass from me. Nonetheless, it turned out to be an unintentional act of kindness.

5. Wotah!
This might seem something very ordinary, but for a man who is coming from the blood-sucking Karachi heat, it would mean the world to him. Yes, you all guessed it right: I am talking about a chilled glass of water. So the last act of kindness that I would like to add in is that I gave a couple of glasses of water to my dad.

So these were the very, very small acts of kindness that apparently did not ask for much effort but meant the world for whom they were done.
